What is Acupuncture - Chinese Medicine ?

Acupuncture is based on the premise that there are patterns of energy flow
called Qi (pronounced "chee"). When this energy flow is disrupted due to
trauma, poor diet, medications, stress or other conditions, pain or illness
result. Acupuncture focuses on correcting these imbalances of energy flow by
inserting ultra-thin needles under the skin to stimulate specific points of the
body. Stimulation unblocks the channels and encourages an even flow
of Qi, restoring the body's balance and relieving pain and other symptoms.

Herbs, nutrition and exercise are used in conjunction with acupuncture to
strengthen the various systems in the body (circulatory, endocrine and
immune functions) to prevent and cure disease. Chinese medicine focuses on
the importance of preventing disease and illness. Esther fixes your sickness
but she also teaches you to love your body and maintain your health.

As an experienced physician Esther will diagnose the patient’s
condition and create a unique herbal formula customized to the
patient’s needs. Acupuncture and herbs represent a simple, gentle
process that first cleanses the body of disease, and later
strengthens the immune system to prevent further illness.

Acupuncture is one of the safest medical treatments available
today, causing little or no sensation in the patient. It is completely
natural, and stimulates the body’s own healing powers without
causing any additional trauma.

More and more Western doctors and scientists agree that this
holistic approach to health does work. The World Health
Organization has formally declared the "sheer weight of evidence
demands that acupuncture must be taken seriously and is of
considerable value to many types of chronic injuries and pain."
